Recruitment for PhD Scholarships at the University of Birmingham is now open. This year, up to 89 fully-funded Scholarships will be awarded across the six Universities involved in the Midlands3Cities consortium, giving prospective postgraduates of Modern Languages at Birmingham a very strong chance of success. The Midlands3Cities consortium is a Doctoral Training Programme that offers students from the UK and abroad the highest quality PhD supervision, as well as placement and professional development opportunities that will equip them for their future careers.
PhD program in Politics, Public Policies and Globalization at the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Perugia, Italy. One scholarship grant is reserved for international students. Candidates will have to submit a research proposal. This, as well as the PhD itself, can be written in English, though the candidate will need to be able to communicate in Italian.
Scholarships are available for the 2015/2016 academic year for eligible Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese applicants for selected taught Master’s degrees at four UK partner universities. Each scholarship includes full tuition fees and a stipend to cover accommodation and living costs. If necessary, the cost of travel to the UK will also be covered. The scholarship will be tenable for one academic year. The scholarships are available for all MA programmes in applied translation and communication studies at the University of East Anglia.
Deadline: August 31st, 2014 Gulf Coast is now accepting entries for the inaugural Gulf Coast Translation Prize. In 2014, the contest is open to poetry in translation. The winner receives $1,000 and publication in the journal. Two honorable mentions will also appear in issue 27.2, due out in April 2015. All entries will be considered for paid publication on our website as Online Exclusives. This year’s contest will be judged by Jen Hofer.
