International Research School for Media Translation and Digital Culture (MTDC) 2025: Call for applications

The Centre for Translation at Hong Kong Baptist University is delighted to announce that it will host the 4th International Research School for Media Translation and Digital Culture (MTDC) in June 2025.
Launched in July 2019 by the Baker Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies, MTDC research schools seek to advance the study of translation in the context of digital (audiovisual) media and online spaces. MTDC 2025 will take the form of a one-week course requiring physical attendance on the Kong Kong Baptist University campus.
MTDC 2025 targets an international audience, focusing on the needs of doctoral and early career researchers in translation, interpreting and intercultural studies, as well as more experienced academics who are new to the discipline or interested in engaging with recent developments in the field. The medium of instruction is English.
The School will take place once every two years at Hong Kong Baptist University, rotating with the HKBU Translation Research Summer School.
MTDC 2025
The featured theme of MTDC 2025 will be Human and Artificial Intelligence in Media Translation.
