The Israeli Occupation Forces Arrest the Academic Dr. Fadel Abu Hein

On Thursday May 1st., Israeli Occupation Forces invaded El-Shujaea neighborhood in Gaza city, and arrested Dr. Fadel Abu Hein, a well-known professor of Psychology in Al-Aqsa University and director of Community Training Center for Crisis Management (CTCM) in Gaza.
Dr. Abu Hein has contributed significantly through research and various community activities in the field of trauma and its impact on the mental health of Palestinians. He is also an active member of the NGOs community, where he is the director of CTCM, which overlooks a number of programmes dealing with children in the area of education and psychology.
Dr. Abu Hein was arrested from his home by the Israeli forces after killing three of his brothers and blowing up their home, during their incursion to their neighborhood. This incursion has resulted in killing thirteen Palestinian citizens, three of whom were children and injuring forty people.
On the other hand, Dr. Abu Hein suffers from Acute Bronchial Asthma that affects his daily functioning and general health, if medication is not taken regularly.
Dr. Abu Hein was taken to an unanimous destination, where there is no available information about his general health condition.
We, at the GCMHP, appeal to all local and international human rights organizations, UN agencies, advocates of academic rights, and NGOs activists worldwide, to take the necessary measures and immediate action in revealing the conditions of his detention and securing his personal well-being and immediate release.
